Role Summary
Lead the execution of fiber optic network rollout projects. Responsible for surveying, planning, budgeting, managing field teams, subcontractor coordination, and client reporting to meet strict timelines and quality standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end fiber optic rollout projects (FTTB, FTTH, and backbone).
- Lead field engineering teams and coordinate with civil works subcontractors.
- Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and produce detailed bills of quantities (BoQ).
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and quality compliance according to client standards.
- Liaise with local authorities and utility companies for wayleave acquisitions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Project Management.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in optical fiber project management.
- Proven track record of managing optical fiber rollouts in Uganda or East Africa.
- Strong understanding of optical budget calculations, OTDR testing, and splicing standards.
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.
